Jan is so excited! Marcia's going to watch the Screen Actors Guild Awards with her this year! But Marcia phoned just as Jan was taking her low-fat artichoke dip out of the oven.
"I'm sorry Jan, I'm going to have to break our date," Marcia said. "Something suddenly came up."
Poor Jan. She looks forward to the SAG Awards all year. It's the only show where the stars take full advantage of the open bar, endless speeches are not allowed, and she can get inspiration from the red carpet. (Jan picked out a nice cranberry Berber carpet for Patty's rumpus room last year.)
Jan also looks for inspiration from the stars to improve her life. Thanks to Ellen Pompeo's ode to a goth Little Mermaid, Jan remembered to defrost the walleye fillets from Philip's fishing trip to Minnesota.
